Representatives of the Insurance Agency of the Republika Srpska participated in the Eastern Cooperation Conference, organized by the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), held on September 10, 2024. at the EIOPA headquarters in Frankfurt, Republic of Germany.
The conference was intended for supervisors of the insurance sector outside the European Economic Area (EEA), from Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans. In addition, representatives of 11 insurance sector supervisors from the countries of the European Union and representatives of EIOPA participated in the work of the Conference.
In the first panel discussion on the topic: “Natural disasters: Can insurance help?”, a representative of the Agency participated, who gave an insight into the market of Republika Srpska.
In the continuation of the conference, through panels and a round table, a discussion was held on the impact of inflation by region, risk-based supervision, the methodology of the EIOPA stress test for the year 2024, and a review of the Solvency II regime was carried out. It was also pointed out the importance of cooperation with supervisors of countries that are not members of the EU, as well as the exchange of experiences with the aim of developing supervisory capacities for the implementation of future regulatory requirements.
